on most motherboards the memory slots are like this
1 3 2 4 so if you wanted your ram to run in dual channel you would put 1 stick in slot 1 and the other in slot 2 that is if you have 2 1 gig sticks that are the same

It should, as long as the modules are fairly similar to each other.
For example, same size (in mb), same speed, etc. It should say if you are running in dual channel in cpu-z

Actually it's
Bank-- Slot 1 --1-.--- Slot 2 Bank-- Slot 3 --2--.-- Slot 4 So you'd put it in 1 and 3 or 2 and 4

First of all, you have to make sure that the two sticks of RAM are identical to each other. Then just plug them into two slots of the mobo. If CPU-Z says that you're running single channel, leave one stick in one slot and then move the other stick to another slot and try again. Try until CPU-Z tells you that you are running dual-channel. The slot layout and map should also be in the mobo manual. But worst comes to worst just start plugging away until you find the right combo. There aren't too many different configurations you can use so you're bound to find the right combo.
