Many times with more RAM modules - you have to INCREASE your timings.
Which is reflected mostly in Game FPS. (slower FPSs) You COULD run more programs THEN though - but higher latency usually means the said in games. So long as your mainting your timings though - you'll be able to run more programs (seeing that you seem to run a lot )

It depends on what you are doing. It was once said that 2GB of RAM for Vista should be plenty, but I kind of feel the pinch of having 2gigs on occasion. Maybe i'm just imagining it, but Vista is pretty memory intensive if you have all the features on. I would say, if you can swing it, go for 4GB of RAM. It's something you won't regret down the road.

There is no need for 4gb of RAM in XP OR Vista.
Vista does have a lot of processes, which can be disabled. Still, it appears that RAM is being eaten, however, Vista just makes use of idling ram as cache. It is more efficient that way. Upgrading to 4GB really is only going to just slow you down, as you have to up your timings and usually you don't yield as high clockspeeds. The best games coming out won't even be able to utilize the full 2gb.

Bullcrap..

No hes not sure noone is sure what the future holds. For future proofing get the 4gb you can still have pretty tight timings and if your not on an amd it really doesn't make as big of a difference. Everyone said why get 2gb way back when.. when 1gb was enough. Then games like BF2 started to max out the 1gb. If future proofing go ahead theres really no reason not to.. ram is soooo cheap right now.
