How do I find out what memory IC's I have? - Overclock.net

besides taking off the heatspreaders?

The DDR2 RAM list doesn't have my Wintec RAM so I can't find out that way. Is there any program that can do this?

There should be a thread in memory section if not google your memory or google IC or something should get it.

You could always try contacting Wintec Tech support and asking them... I doubt they would know but it can't hurt to try.

Have you OCd your memory? If you can push 1000-1100 mhz @ 2.2 vDIMM the more important question becomes does it really matter whether you have elpida, micron or promos ICs?

His results are not necessarily conclusive, but I have not seen Promos or Elpida ICs that could tolerate such high vDIMM. Still his results were rather disappointing:

Looks like it may have Micron chips, just not particularly good ones. I only did a quick test on my Biostar 965PT and my AsRock 4CoreDualVSTA. At 1.8v I couldn't get the PC to boot at 280mhz like my AsRock, so I'm going to have to go back and test some more.

Still, the results are ok. It's not the best overclocking RAM, but all I'm looking to do is to get 3GHz, though I'd love 4Ghz.

I'm looking at the OCZ Platnium 7200 or OCZ Titanium Alpha VX2 if I can't get my Wintec up to speed. (400+ FSB?)

I am unsure if these can be found cheaper elsewhere, but these OC like sin and are guaranteed micron, as Crucial is part of Micron.
