This is the RAM I'm thinking of going with. It's fast, it's at a decent price point, and best of all it has the tightest timings of all the 8500 sticks. Can anyone confirm or deny it's OC abilities? Also if it doesn't overclock worth a @#$, please point me in the direction of something that can, and is in the same price range (sub $200).

What's the rest of your system? Please fill in your system specs under "User CP." That may help us better understand what you will need.

I plan on reusing optical drive, psu, hd's, and sound card. everything else will be new. i don't see why you needed this information seeing as it has zero effect on the ram i'll be needing / wanting. but I have added it to my profile for your viewing pleasure.

I was wondering what system are you putting the RAM into? You may not even need to get DDR2-1066. DDR2-800 OCZ Ballistix and G.Skill HZs can overclock to that high of speeds.

Oh, easy enough. Q6600 G0, and Asus P5KC, I thought I had that in the original post, but I guess it slipped my mind.

With the Q6600 any of these will work great and OC to about the same speeds. They are based on the same memory chip as the Mushkins.

so those will be able to have timings as tight as the Mushkin at 8500+ speed?

Yes, maybe at 5-5-5-15 at the worst. If you got money to spend you can go for those Mushkins, that's a pretty good price for them. Otherwise I would go for the Ballistix in the first link I gave.
