If you read the first post in this thread, you would understand the significance of RAM timings. If you are running single channel, you can ignore the bulk of the benefit from the advice given here. RAM timings are EXTREMELY important if you want to get everything you can out of your rig. If you don't care, then RAM timings don't matter to you. You can safely move on.

I just like to bump this thread. Is it stickied yet?

how would it work if lets say i have 2 G.skill 2g sticks, and 2 512 kingston sticks. with the p5nsli, i didnt see a way to set seperate timings for each set. or should i just play around with it until i get a happy medium?

No. The RAM will run at the slowest speed of any stick you pop in there. My recommendation is to use the G.Skills and hawk the 512s on the internet or keep them around as test sticks (I have a 512 off-brand I keep around for abuse... amazing it's not fried yet). Very little use for more than 2GB these days unless you do media editing or are in Vista (even with the latter, there is only marginal justification).
