Unhappy Ballistix died on me

Well, once again I have managed to ruin another set of ram. My Ballistix have been running fine for me but the past couple of days I have been waking up in the morning to my rig having reset itself and then I come home today from work and bam, no response from rig. I shut it down and try to restart it.

Apparently this time my ram being bad my mb read it wrong and kept showing the led's for the cpu being bad. But I take out my Ballistix and throw in my G,Skill and long and behold it started up. So I put my ballistix back in and it showed the cpu being bad once again.

Finally I realized my mb must be reading the diagnostic led's wrong and it has to be the ram, so of course I do 1 stick of ram at a time and sure enough one of my ballistix sticks are bad. So now I have to RMA them.

So my question is, how many people have their ram go out on them after just 2 months of running at 1100MHZ?? Vdimm@2.3 and 5-5-5-12 timmings??

Am I really pushing that hard on them, My G.Skill's did the same thing as a matter of fact they lasted just about as long and I had to RMA them, this is only the second time they have been in a rig since I got them back.

Anyways, so should I just try and lower Vdimm, or should I just play it safe and call it quits on oc'ing the mem cause it doesn't seem like I can find any ram that is worth a crap for any length of time(even my OCZ Gold XTC ram better than these and they had promos chips on them).

Actually I answered my own question, I just need to buy better and faster rated ram, Well I guess I get to go shopping now. Any good suggestions??

Yea, I think I'm finished with DDR2800 PC-6400, I'm gonna have to go with at least DDR21066, I just keep killing all my DDR2800 ram that I get. Thanks for the linky though.

Hundreds............ as I've pointed out on numerous occasions, there used to be a thread at Extreme Systems about this, but it's timed out...... It seems that some ( a lot ) of the Micron D9's are voltage-hungry. Pump some juice through them, and they love it. So much so, that they require more and more over time. If I'm right, your Gskills will do the same thing ( my HZ's now need 2.25 to boot, and counting ). It's not really that big a deal , since all this high-quality RAM is guaranteed for life.

What to do is really your call. Personally, once I've found mycdhip's top end, I don't see the point of running it there 24/7. I'm scaled back to 360 x 9 with my e6600 ( but, I'm probably not done tweaking ) for everyday use.

My Ballistix topped out on me at about 1200Mhz, so I figured 1100 wasn't too bad and they passed memtest and all, but yea I see what you mean.

Although even if they did require more vdimm then they should still at least let the mb see them to boot at 2.3 vdimm or at least I would sure hope so.

I had a problem with mine a couple months ago where it showed a billion different colors, letters, symbols, and numbers whenever it started up. It stopped after I left the computer off with the ram out for about a day. I was about to rma it then decided to give it another shot. It's worked flawlessly since.

Mine have being running strong at 1066MHz on stock voltage, it's bad to temper with the voltage of this RAM ESPECIALLY on 680i SLI boards.
