Default Which Low Latency RAM

I need PC2 6400 (or higher) that will run CL3 @ 850MHz 1:1.
Any ideas. What is rated higher (CL4 or CL5) but will run super tight timings? 850 MHz is as high as I can go.

P.S. my Dominators went tits up.

My Team Xtreem PC8000 can do 3-3-3-8 at 800+ with 2.2v, but im not quite sure if it could go all the way to 850 with those timings. I strongly suspect they could with 2.3v.

You might want to look into a set. Tank Guys still sell the 2x1GiB kits for $70 I believe.

Anything I've had with Micron D9GMH, D9GKX, or D9GCT ICs has done 3-3-3-8 1T @ 800MHz and 3-3-3-8 2T @ 900MHz with 2.20V or less.

Steer clear of anything with Elpida ICs if you want to run CAS3 at DDR 800-900, I have yet to find any of their 6E or 8E series ICs that will pull it off, although they fare well running CAS4 or CAS5 at much higher clocks.

I just happen to have a set of Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB PC8000 5-5-5-15 2.2V sticks, P/N BL12864AA1005 Batch CL111ZK48. These have the famous MT47H64M8 B6-25E (D9GMH) ICs. These have been Memtest passed on my system @ 800MHz 3-3-3-8, 1000MHz 4-4-4-12, 1066MHz 4-4-4-12, and 1128MHz 5-5-5-15 at 2.20V or less.

P.S. my Dominators went tits up.
Why do you want to run Cas 3 850 1 : 1, 1 : 1 is the worst divider you can use on a Intel chipset when it comes to bandwidth and latency, you be better of with any other divider and you get higher bandwidth and lower latency with 1066@5-5-5-15.

Intel indeed loves bandwidth and doesn't care much about timings. Get fast RAM, and DDR2 1xxx at CAS5 will be plenty fast.

I have a set of that P5400, and a set of the PC8000.

The PC5400 is distinctly inferior, and I would be quite surprised if you were able to get it 100% stable at the speed you are trying for.

My set cannot even POST at DDR800, 3-3-3-8-T2, 2.2v. Also the PC5400 tops out around DDR-1000. The PC8000 can do DDR-1200+, with the same or less voltage, with tighter timings, in my experience.

Your results may be difference, but it does seem that Team is quite competent with their binning process and is not letting the best chips reach the cheaper ram.

Just because they use the same kind of chips does not mean they are anywhere near equal.

That sounds really good guys, but...I have tried my system with RAM up to 1150MHz, FSB up to 500, and every divider. My limitation is my E8400. It will not run stable over 3.85 GHz regardless of voltage (within reason) bandwidth, multiplier, or any other setting.
I run 1:1 because it is the most stable setting.
Thus...to run faster, my only other option is faster RAM.

Just make sure to get some kind of a cooling solution on those bare ICs. Heat can be a real killer of the D9 series.
