Again old p4 2.8 Northwood. I have a 1 gig stick pc 2100 and 2 sticks of 256 pc2700. Which would give me better performance the 1 gig 2100 or 512 of pc 2700?

The 1GB should give you more performance in my opinion since its 1Gig.

Definitely stick to the 1gig. If you have 3 slots in that mobo, try out all three sticks and see how they run together.
