Default bad memory?

So, I finally got the new rig together, and after some troubleshooting got it to post with one stick of memory. I know it's late and I may not be thinking clearly. Is ther something I'm missing? Could it be voltage issues? I didn't change the bios, although I did update the bios, but that didn't help. One thing that I noticed was that the case it was shipped in was cracked, and one of the sticks was floating around in there loose.

If it is bad, Is it best to rma through new egg or direct to mushkin? Do you know if either do cross shipments?

Ok, I'm slightly new here. Everything in bios is set to default. I assume it's set to auto. Exactly which setting am I looking for? dram voltage? If so, it's on auto, min is 1.8, max is 3.00.

If the CMOS was reset to default it should run, I have seen many bad memory sticks. Swap the two using the same slot and see what happens, if no post it's the stick.
If you bought it from NewEgg RMA it there.

Yes, that is what I have done. I swapped the sticks. One works, and one doesn't. Thanks for the help and lightning fast responses!
