Any DDR2 should work. These would be hard to beat for $19 after MIR...they can also move to your next system when you need to upgrade:
OCZ Platinum Revision 2 (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227139

As for compatibility, Dell and OCZ seem to get along. Dell actually sells OCZ from their site as an upgrade. Here is a link to OCZ Forums addressing compatibility: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=17218

2. Crucial makes more than Ballistix ram 3. For older Dell systems, value ram 1.8v is usually the most compatable 4. Since the OP did not list their system model # the system scanner can suggest an upgrade route with compatability information 5. I may have some knowledge about older Dell systems since I've owned several over the last 10 years until recently 6. Help the OP with your expertise and have a happy holiday
