Go with 4GB of ram its more than enough for Vista. Get another 4GB later on.

If money is not an issue, why not get 8gb
One of the biggest slowdowns on pcs happens when applications are written into the pagefile, with 8gb that will never be an issue for you.
Now do any applications use much memory now? Nope. They need to be native 64 bit applications, and there aren't many of those. But having a number of heavy applications open at once, and being able to alt-tab between them would feel great :P

My rig really doesn't like to Alt+Tab from a gamescreen. It's like i'm punching it. Can't wait for more Ram.

If you have calculation programs running, 16Gb or 32Gb would be ideal.

Much of the higher ended workstations are pushing the envelope while the server classes are reaching 64Gb using XP 64-bit

SERVER LAN PARTY!

While im on that subject, is it possible to have 1 or more computers transfer there cpu/gpu/ram/etc processing power into one display??? Like two computers sharing the load in unison.

RAM is cheap, get 8GB. At LAN parties, my quad & 8GB of ram has proven to be very useful at times
