Default OCZ voltage?

when I built my sig rig and turned it on the memory was set at 800mhz but its actually PC8500 1066mhz so I tried changing it to 1066 in the cmos but the pc locked up at verifying DMA data

does this mean I have to apply more voltage?
I looked up the ram on the site I got it from and it looks like the highest voltage it can go to is 2.15v....... is that right? heres the link

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-110-OC

1066MHz DDR2
- EPP 5-5-5-18 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS)
- Unbuffered
- OCZ Lifetime Warranty
- 2.1 Volts
- 240 Pin DIMM
- Reaper HPC Heatsink*
- EPP-Ready
- 2.15V EVP**

so think I should just up the voltage a little and see if it works ( making sure I dont go above 2.15 ) ?

thanks

edit: also where is the best place to read up on overclocking my board?

Iwould definately go to 2.15 and that seems low for 1066, mine are 1066 and my voltage is 2.35.If nothing else loosen timings just to see.

I just went into the cmos there....... the DRAM was set 1.95v so I upped it to 2.1v and once I got into windows the pc locked up..... im guessing then that there still is not enough volts but im scared to go above 2.1v as im not sure what these modules can handle

anybody else have these and can give their 2 cents?

Are you sure the timings are set to 5-5-5-18?

well 2.15v is the highest voltage OCZ will allow to keep your warrenty.

Your ram is default at 800mhz with w/e timings and voltage. OCZ's product guarentees that your ram can go 1066mhz with cas 5-5-5-18 @ 2.1v, so you gotta manually set those settings.

breaking your warranty, ocz ram can go to 2.3v max on regular use without degrading your ram.

what are the actual names of each of the timings so i know what to change in the cmos, i cant seem to find this information.... I changed the voltage to 2.1v - the speed to 1066mhz - and changed the top listed timings for the memory thinking thats the ones it would be..... but windows would not boot so im back to 800mhz with auto timings

thanks

You may have a bad stick stick of ram in there. 1.9v seems ok since your ram is running under it's rated speed, but 2.1v is fine for now. Try taking out all but one stick of ram (Not sure if you have 1gig or 2gig sticks). Change out each stick and run it to see if it does the same thing with all of them.
