i have a theory as to why people with the double sided failed. they pushed them too far without adequate cooling. and that caused them to fail. but that may be just me speculating. but that's why i put a cooling fan over them.

I got a set of DDR2-800 single-sided Tracers, been running for around 3weeks, still works fine, but it's running at 680MHz due to my mobo only supporting DDR2-667 with minor overclocking(my stupid ECS board auto-OC).

i bought the single sided crappy ddr 2 800 ones for 30 after mir from newegg

but have them stable at 1140

guess im lucky

My set of 2x1gb tracers, the 1066 flavour, were erroring memtest in 3, yes count it 3 different rigs.

Tested on all those boards with other working ram that would pass fine. So obviously, ram is dead right?

Last week (I never RMA'd them), I decided to see how they were doing, popped them in, 1150mhz stock volts/timings no errors.

well if there double sided then its not so bad and it was a while back
also if they still work then you are blessed
i have bought ballistix for all my rigs since the ddr versions and they are picky as hell and have a short lifespan but for some reason they keep drawing me in
so dont feel bad i have dumped a lot more than 200 into ballistix
