Default Mixing & Matching RAM Possible?

Alright, I am using the EVGA 680i motherboard and i currently have 2x1GB of crucial Ballistix DDR2 @800MHz on it. I also have in my closet somewhere 2x1GB of corsair XMS 667MHz RAM from a couple of years ago. What I am wondering is if I can have the crucial ram in the first pair of DIMMS and the corsair in the second pair of DIMMS.

I doubt this is possible but I was just wondering so that I could take advantage of it rather than let those two sticks become artifacts in my closet.

merci beaucoup.

You can mix them just fine. You'll just be limited to the slowest stick. If the 667 RAM can be OCd to 800 then great, otherwise you'll be brought down to whatever it can reach.

Also: If you need to increase the voltage on the slow sticks to overclock them, you will be overvolting the fast sticks - so don't increase it too high or you'll reduce their lifespan.
