Default 2 Different Sets of RAM in 1 PC?

I currently have this set of Ram in my rig.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098

i bought these ram and they arrived today.

Is it possible that i can run both sets of RAM in my rig at the same time, and still be able to possibly maintain the OC i have? If not no biggie i'll run 4gigs instead of 2 and sell off the 2gig set. If so, i'll probably use the RAM just to do it.

Mixing a 2GB set with a 4GB set would still allow for decent overclocks on the CPU, but it would certainly limit your memory overclocks/timings changes due to the strains on the NB...

Personally, I don't see much reason to have 6GBs, as no application utilizes that much RAM... you'd be better off selling the 2GB set and only using the 4GB kit, thus loosening the strain on the NB and allowing for higher clocks on your memory

Photoshop, CAD, and video editing can all easily use 6GB and more...

Cool deal. Thanks for the input on this.

I dont use cad, or photoediting. I mainly use it for gaming, hence the e8400 instead of a quad core.

Yeah, if you just game, 4GB is perfect.

I want to upgrade to 8GB for my Adobe Premier usage.
