Which would overclock better? I want to take a Q6700 to 4GHz on a DFI LanParty UT x48 T2R. Here is a comparison.

I would go with the G.Skill ram.... its very popular on OCN and if my G.Skill PC2-6400 HK's are anything to go by they can do 1000MHz with 4-4-3-5 timmings
G.Skill make great overclocking RAM

The Mushkin has a better heatspreader, but the G.Skill is more mainstream. I think the Mushkin would most likely OC better, but not by much. I think it would be more convenient to get the G.skill, as no MIR.

I have some Mushkin RAM and I plan on getting more Mushkin RAM for my next build. They have one hell of a support staff. They know their RAM and are incredibly helpful. They'll help you OC your RAM too.
__________________You can even go to their forum and post there asking about that set of RAM. They can tell you how far it goes OCing wise. You can google up some reviews of Mushkin RAM. They're not mainstream, but they are definitely good. Just make sure to include the RAM kit # (ex: 996580) when you google. That number should be on the newegg page.

Both are very good Powerchips-based kits.
__________________However, G.Skill has higher two higher binned kits, their DDR2-1100 one, & the new DDR2-1200 one. Which basically means, the chances of getting a really high OC with the G.Skill are decreased. Ascent stuff is Mushkin's highest binned. The Ascent heatspreaders are also functional, not just there for looks. And there's Mushkin's superior support to consider as well ![]()
