You are either buying the wrong stuff or not setting the timings right! DDR3 has come a long way in 6 months. I used to have a set of the Team ProjectX.. did CAS6 at over 1800mhz...I believe Everest reports were in the 12k for Read and ~10k for Write.

*Dont forget chipset latency affects RAM bandwidth too, so you can only compare RAM using the same mobo or chipset type.

Ok so, it seems as though the p5q i was using doesn't like crucial ballistix no matter which set i used i got memtest errors. I switched back to my p5ne-sli and i get 10,500 read and that is just at 1066 5-5-5-18 because i can't overclock my 1066 sticks, just my 800 sticks. If i wasn't running vista x64, i would just run the 2 gig lol. I can only imagine what it would be at 1245mhz 5-5-5-15 with this chipset. I bet i could break 12k just like your ddr3

i thought there was a reason i had been using nvidia chipsets for a while now.

Are you sure the set they sent you worked in the first place?

1066RAM is basically overclocked 800 RAM anyway.
