Default Need advice on RAM

I just purchased a DFI LP JR P45 T2RS. Newegg says it only supports DDR2-800, but the manual states it can support 1066. I was looking at the 4x2gb kits on newegg, both 800 and 1066, and I have to wonder, is the price difference worth it? Couldn't I just OC DDR2-800 to 1066 or close to it?

Second, I'm not sure what's a decent brand anymore. I've got 4x1gb Crucual ballistix, that I'm going to be putting in a different system. The 4 sticks I'm on are all replacements. That's right, the original 4 I had purchased all went bad in less than a year. So, I was looking at the DDR2-1066, and DDR2-800 selection on newegg,

1066

800

The only brands I've ever really used are Corsair, Crucial and Mushkin. OCZ and G.Skill seem to be highly recommended around here. Is Patriot any good? If 1066 is really recommended over 800, I think I'd probably stick with what I know and either go Corsair, or Mushkin, though the Dominators seem to be pricey w/o the fan. But, considering the price after rebate on the Patriot Vipers, I might consider those also.

So, 1066, or 800? And what do you all recommend from the options available?

Really you would want gskill for the best moneys worth. Crucial has really let down eveyone by cheaping out their memory. As for the increase in speed it really depends on what you do.

Depending on what type of cup you are going to have, get 800 if you are going to get a higher multi (9+) cpu. Otherwise, get the 1066. In general, most 800 ram should be able to OC extra 15-20% of stock. That's almost a stock 1000. GSKill 1066

Would it be problematic to go with DDR2-1000? Right now I'm considering the following,

G.Skill

Mushkin Ascent

Mushkin Redline

Corsair Dominator

I know the Mushkin and Corsair cost a bit more(well, the Corsair does anyway), but I trust them, and I've never used G.Skill. I've got some time to decide, since I probably wont order for a few weeks.

All very good. The Ascent will OC higher than the Redlines though. IMO the Corsair and Mushkin have a better chance of OCing higher.

1000 should be fine. In most cases, we need adjust the ram speed other than ram stock speed anyway.

Mushkin 996599

These were in stock last night, I had almost forgotten about them. I don't think I'll need the extravagant cooling of the Ascent series, so it's between these and the Redlines. After rebate the Redlines are almost $20 less.
