i would slowly overclock it and use occt to test it i think you can get upward in the 700's with 667mhz ram but why did u get 667mhz ram when 800mhz would have been better? anyways try lowering the timing buy one except the t timing

800mhz is pretty high. I can get mine to 802mhz but I don't think its very stable. Right now my 3gb of 667mhz ram is running at 712mhz stable (possible to go higher). You can use OCCT to test your ram or Prime 95. Good Luck.

ok thanks, but what bios settings should i use, thanks

reason i got 667MHz ram over 800MHz because i was only supposed to get the ram for when i had a dell *shame* but my dad got me all this new hardware etc, and i didn't think to change the ram from 667mhz (max supported by my old dell) to 800mhz at the time, because the guy did say to get it, but i was too excited about the new parts to think correctly

I'm not very knowledgeable in ram OCing but I know that I got my Pentium D 925 up to 3.6 GHz on a crappy ASRock so your P5K should do it no problem. So when you finish OCing your ram (or before) try bumping that bad boy up an extra 200 MHz (or more).

Sorry for the derail.

off topic: haha paradox u made me want to make the cake from portal now lmao

on topic: i have used the Asus AI Software and if i set it to game mode it overclocks my pentium d to 3580mhz, but i dont think thats worth it, temps have not risen that much either, but i really just want to overclock my ram, so hence i keep my CPU at 3400MHz, and i wouldnt bother with a CPU overclock unless i get it to 3800mhz or 4000mhz

but could someone say the exact ram settings to use please, thanks

With 4x1GB you may need to increase your northbridge voltage. Don't let the 667 speed fool you, it all depends on the ICs. My D9GMH 667 clocked to 1080MHz.

Be sure to run orthos or prime 95 for atleast 6-7 hours.. Remember run memtest to see if ur ram is running fine not failing!
