Default Wow! I'm impressed with these AMPX DDR3 sticks!

Okay so I decided to jump on the Foxconn black ops, which is a beast in itself, so I could run trifire! Well, I decided to go with a cheap set of ddr3 as I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg getting ram that would be replaced once nehalem...I mean core i7 arrived.

So I went with a budget set of Wintec AMPX ddr3 1333mhz 2x1gb sticks that are sitting privately, and without love, on newegg for 79.99. What the hey? 80 dollar performance ram that I can use to at least do 1:1 ratios and not worry about it effecting my overclock while benching. I bit as I needed it anyways for the new board.

To put it shortly, these things are un-relentless. I haven't been able to not boot these things! Stock specs are 1333mhz PC3-10666 9-9-9-24 2T timings.

Check the following picture for the muscle these things hide under the cover of inexpensive ddr3 price tags.

So WTH? 2.0ghz operation with 8-8-8-18 1T timings. A 667mhz increase with a lot tighter timings and a 1T command rate. Yes, I feel the love these things are whispering in my ear! I must say, it's talking dirty and I like!

However, I just thought I would pass along my findigns to those guys looking for a nicely performing set of ddr3 while not breaking the bank!

Yes, I'm getting another set of these! 4gb of 2000mhz capable ram for a total price of a whopping 160 dollars? Too good to pass up my friends!

And they have rather plain black heatspreaders that don't get in the way of other stuff!

Are you able to tell us what chips these modules are using?

They are Qimonda from what I could tell. I left a newegg review that hasn't been posted yet. They aren't the d9's but apparently they are just as good! I got done running memtest and a stress test. My settings are golden on ram! =o)

Hmm, this review shows the AMPX modules at the rear of the pack:

Those are slightly different. A different kit and ram capacity, and not to mention that ddr3 ram and boards seem to be finicky. I bet that played a major roll in some of their testing.
