From what I know, there are no 8GB (4x2GB) kits that come in PC2-8500. You can always overclock it, in which it should do that speed just fine.

Why can't he just buy two 2x2gb kits?

You can use 8gb, but you may have to raise the NB voltage up a bit.

Thats true but I was talking about strictly ordering a 8GB set all in one.. If you want seperate 2x2 kits, i reccomend the 2x2 1066 dominators, i love mine, they were $72 or something with a $30 MIR for the set. The MIR isnt valid @ newegg anymore or you coulda had 8gb for like $60 lol

Video editing and virtual machines are two things that come to my mind.

My 4x2Gb (pair of 2x2Gb kits) G.Skill 1066 Pi ran at 1066 with only 1.94v vdimm. I would highly recommend them.

Working with alot of virtual machines, they eat up RAM. The corsair ram I have cant overclock for nuttin and will hold me back when I oc my q6600. Ill look into the gskill ram ericeod suggested, the dominators are a bit too pricey for me.
