Just a quick question, I'm planning to reach 3.4GHz, 3.8 or even 4.0 with a s1283 cooler, and a P5Q-E.
__________________Would it be wise to choose the "Gskill 4GB DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) (5-5-5-15)" kit ? Would it be automatically underclocked to a 1:1 ratio ? Can/should I set the timings to 4-4-4-12 (somehow) if possible ? Is the 1:1 ratio that important ? Or it's 'stable' to run 450:533 ? Please advice, thank you.

G.Skill is great RAM, especially the PI series. Dominators are working well for lots of people these days too. Neither will OC like Team, Cellshock or the old Tracers but you will be able to up the frequency to a point.
As for timings/speed, most systems vary slightly every with similar hardware so you need to bench your rig at both to find which is faster. You don't have to run 1:1 though, your system can be perfectly stable at another RAM divider. Also if you haven't bought parts for the new rig yet, you should really consider the EP45-UD3x boards from Gigabyte. They are not expensive and they will overclock the Q9550 higher and more stably that the P5Q series (last board I owned was a P5Q Deluxe). Have fun!

Thanks for the heads up, it's the PI version.
__________________Okay, I'll stick to testing and getting the highest OC possible. However, I can't order the other motherboard since it'd be the same price (<7US$ difference) and would just take 2 weeks more. Thanks again .
