Intel Overclocker
|
So I'm a complete noob when it comes to overclocking my RAM. I landed a stable 1GHz overclock on my E8500 and now I want to do my RAM.
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=554437 I have 8gb of Corsair XMS2 800 5-5-5-18 and XP64. What should I set the timings, voltage, and ratio to achieve the best overclock? How would I test for stability? Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure if your board will be too happy about it, that 650i can be sketchy with memory overclocks.
Either way, granted it works. You could try setting your timings manually to 5-5-5-18 and memory voltage manually to 1.9v. Then set the memory linked in the bios, to 1:1. The memory will then run near 880mhz, which is a 80mhz overclock. That is, if your board will allow it. You might need more NB voltage. Use memtest 2.11+ from a bootable CD to test.

You haven't said exactly what ram you have. Is it Corsair XMS2 6400 C4 DDR2 ram? If so its designed to do 4,4,4,12 @ 800Mhz but can usually do a lot better.
