ECC - Error checking modules of ram which check the data for errors before it's all processed. Used in servers for stability. Slower/less performance than non ECC because it has to check everything first.
Registered/Unbuffered - Registered is technically the same as ECC. Unbuffered is what we all use mainly. It's high performance ram but its as stable because if an error occurs, the ram wont correct it and you'll see a bluescreen or get a lockup etc.
Get unbuffered, that's what 90% of the stuff is floating around newegg anyways. All the ram that us overclockers use is non ECC unbuffered most of the time unless. ECC/Registered ram is for servers.
