Ohhhh. But how would one know that people will want the 1066LV more than the 1200LV?

Price. & word of mouth.

It's currently getting out to the enthusiast market that these RAM sticks and do seriously high clock speeds.

So people are going to go out and buy the early batches that can overclock well.

I think right now they only testing to see if the ICs go up to 1066Mhz. They will probably go up to 1200Mhz, but they are not testing to see if they go up that high right now. When they start releasing the new models they will begin testing them at 1150Mhz and 1200Mhz to see if they pass at those speeds.

That's freakin amazing.. 5-5-5 @ 1261mhz with only 1.9v? Wish my memory could do that...

Are you going to try putting more voltage to it?

So the 1066, as of now, is more of the bang for the buck for the same perf as the 1200, correct?

But in a month or so, the better IC will be placed in the 1200 so that people will be attracted to its OC capability?

You just nailed it.

And that Price to Performance is why we are recommending the 1066 sticks currently.

Why would you waste your money on 1200mhz, if you didn't need to?

Right now, both pairs of sticks use the same quality IC's. But when time rolls on, and more people want the 1066LV sticks, they'll only put the good IC's in the 1200mhz RAM kits, and they'll put the lower end IC's that could not make it to 1200mhz in the 1066 & 1100mhz kits.
So if they put lower end IC's in the 1066 in the future, it's like downgrading the 1066 kits? And then put the IC that made it to 1200 MHz (in the present) to the 1200 kits?

So either way, if I buy a 1066 today or a 1200 in the future, I get the same OC capability and overall performance?

How tall are the blade series sticks? I have the OCZ memory cooler and wonder if they would fit underneath it. Although I'm sure I dont really need the memory cooler that much, every little thing helps and I could just get the platinum series.

There is no point in giving these sticks more voltage, because they won't reach higher clocks with it. Besides, at 1.9v they get relativly hot already. Remember these are completely different IC's from the "usual" DDR2.

Not tall at all, just a bit thick. There are some good pics I took on the first page, take a look.

Currently, yeah. Right along the G-Skill PI PC9600 and the Buffalo Firestix Inferno PC9600. They are a lot more expensive though.
