You think I could run the 9600 on my rig? If so would you rather recommend it over 8500? Could I in fact go up to 1200MHz on it?

I do believe 18 is # 1 couldn't do that well with those sticks on the Abit IP35-E.

Something to do with no option to set the PL. If so, I would just look at the PC2-8500 sticks.

Andy what do you make of the fact I don't have a 500 profile like yours does in CPUZ? Is it just because they are set up wrong?

He got the DDR2 1066 modules, they probably don't include a 1000mhz setting in the 1200mhz kits as that is "below them" so to speak.

Since they don't consider someone buying 1200mhz RAM and under clocking that much, they ignore it.

Tot is right. My Abit Pro 35 didn't like fast RAM. Anything much past 1100 wouldn't run at speed.

I don't have a 500 profile either, so I don't know where you got that. I do have a 555 profile, which is odd because that's more then my sticks default speed. Either way they aren't setup wrong, it's probably another revision. I have one of the early non-binned kits I suppose. SPD table isn't that important when you can set everything yourself.

SPD Tables are only for EPP & XMP profiles.

I think AMD chipsets have a profile setting as well, but I don't remember what it is.

Oh yes 555 profile is the one you have. I miss read it and thought it was 500.

Got to get my new Q9650 stable then i'll have with the ram next week.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
