So I am unable to run my ddr2 1066 (low voltage, black PCB) at anything BUT 1066mhz. If I load up 1077 its unstable. 1100, unstable. I told OCZ and their respnose "The Blade 1066mhz kits are designed to run at 1066mhz. We do not guarantee that they will run higher than spec. We do have other Blade memory kits that are rated for higher speeds however:
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/ddr2/blade_series" Copied and pasted from the email I was sent. It's like.....I didn't buy (at the time) $90 ddr2 1066 to run it at 1066.... O_o

But that's all they are guaranteed for.
An overclock is an overclock, no ones going to guarantee their product overclocks well. In fact, the only people that do are Intel, but that's with a CPU feature (IE Turbo Boost on Core i5/i7) but that's not a Overclock persay, that's more or less just ramping up CPU speed to what it could be.

It could be Chipset, different sub timings, or your CPU overclock holding things up.
You should list all your sub timings, bios settings and whatnot, it'd be easier to help then.

I've tried at stock settings, stable cpu overclocked settings, never even touched the ram timings actually. Right now theyr'e at 5-5-5-17, 1066mhz. Put it up to 1100 and it will fail memtest. Bah.

That would depend on various other settings, such as timings and FSB.

Yeah sorry, but you've got nForce...

Trust me, it's not the RAM that sux, it's your motherboard. If you want high DDR2 clocks without being extremely knowledgeable about tweaking your mobo, throw it out & get something X48/P45 & your RAM will magically get so much better...

The sad truth^^^. I've been an avid user of nForce boards for years. Extensive used with 680i, 750i, and 780i. You're going to have to look for tight timings around 1000-1100Mhz. 1200Mhz 24/7 is rare for nForce boards. See who high you can push cas 4 and T1. Their are some newer 780i boards out that clam "1200 OC with EPP 1.0", but haven't seen any of them. Maybe handpicked binning IDK.

At the moment, ram is at 5-5-5-17, 1066, unlinked, 1.8v, running fine. Tried 1.9v, tried linking the fsb with each ratio seperately, tried unlinking it and doing the "overcock cpu first, make sure its stable, then overclock memory" method, ran memtest after every single adjustment. I understand that the nforce may have issues with memory, but I personally havn't. Frankly, I wouldn't post saying I think I have a memory issue, unless I thought I had a memory issue. Acoma for your sake I will reiterate my issue, but again, for your sake only because I've been following this thread since you started it and your work here actually influenced my decision to go with this memory. It just won't pass either win7 memtest or memtest86 (bootable), or even hirens boot cd memtest (same thing I think), under any kind of overclock. Maybe it is some mystery BIOS setting, but I don't think that's the case, especially when I can't even get a single lower timing value or 20mhz increase on speed. The problem is completely absurd to be honest. Quote:
