Default [Quick help] RAM Timings

Hey guys, I'm going to buy new RAM figuring that's what I currently need (And a HSF). My 2x1GB G.Skill 1066 RAM is 2 months old, I need 4GB's =/

Basically my question is, would I recognize the difference between:
A. 6-6-6-18 RAM 1
&
B. 5-5-5-15 RAM 2

Thanks for your time.

Kind Regards

Look at my overclocking guide. The timings will quicken your ram but if you do it too much it can cause errors and problems. But in general tighter timings would give you higher performance. And that is not a big difference there. If you went from 6-6-6-18 to 4-4-4-12 or even more awesome 2-3-2-8 (really hard to do) you will see an improvement. But it is hard to notice unless something is really ram intensive.

You would have a much better increase in performance if you overclocked your graphics card. Again look at my guide. It should clear things up. But if you do OC, you need better cooling. If you can get ahold of it in aussie then go for a Xigmatex s1283 and get some good TIM like Arctic Silver 5 or something that is way better than AS5 like MX-2 or IC7

Thanks for the quick answer :P.
So really, I won't see much of a difference? There's a $35 difference which could get me better things. Looks like the Team Xtreme it is!

Thanks!!!

Kind Regards
