Aaahh im going crazy
![]() I have enough money saved up for my next upgrade - 4gb RAM. But the problem is that I cant decide what RAM to get. 1st option: A-DATA 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz G-Series CL5-5-5-12 ( around 60$ ) {Cas Latency Timing: 5-5-5-12 Working Voltage: 1.9V~2.1V} 2nd option: A-DATA 2x2GB DDRII Over Clock Extreme Edition DDR2 800+ ( around 67$ ) { Cas Latency Timing: 4-4-4-12 Working Voltage: 1.9V~2.1V} 3rd option: Crucial 4GB kit (2GB x 2) DDR2 800/ 240-pin/ 2.0V/ 256Meg x 64 Ballistix ( about 69$ ) 4th option: A-DATA 2x2GB DDRII Over Clock Extreme Edition DDR2 1066+ ( about 88$ ) { Cas Latency Timing: 5-5-5-15 Working Voltage: 2.1V~2.3V } Biggest question is: Is there a noticeable difference between 800 and 1066 ( 1066 is about 20$ more expensive ), is it worth the extra money?

It's only worth the extra money if you plan on overclocking as it gives you extra headroom.
There is no real world difference noticed by upgrading to 1066mhz from 800mhz. Unless you plan on OC'ing, get the 800mhzs.

If your going to be using the x32 bit version of Windows don't forget that only just over 3GB of ram will be used by the operating system! To make full use of 4GB or more a X64 bit OS is required.

not much of a difference in personal testing, but in numbers yes. if you consider ocing, get the 1066, but imo, id recommend you get OCZ Blades Low Voltage ddr2 800

I do plan on overclocking, but nothing extreme.. Maybe my E2140 on 3ghz if I can.
Will get 64bit Vista. Yes, i cant buy from newegg, but sending the links help me find the same product from another shop. Also.. on the A-datas, the Over Clock Extreme Edition is just for getting sales? Or will these overclock bit more too? ( still undecided )

Aside from that, you'll probably want to spend $15-20 more for 1066 since they'll last you longer and you won't have to upgrade. But since DDR2 is slowly dying out.. if you want on upgrading your whole system soon, you might want to get 800. Edit: Or maybe you just want to wait for a whole new system instead of upgrading RAM.
