Default question regarding ram speed and capacity

hi all
i am using this p5lp-le mobo from asus.
it has dual channel memory function.
i am currently using 3gb 533mhz ram in 1g - 512m - 1g - 512m config.
will there be any performance change if i decide to use 2gb 667mhz ram instead? 1g - empty - 1g - empty

thanks

use two sticks of ddr2 2gb in dual channel and you will notice a nice boost the ram today is cheap is worth it

Default

but i only have 2 x 1gb of 667 on hand right now
and i was thinking its not worth goin out there and buyin more ddr2 ram since my new build which i will work on in a couple months time is gonna use ddr3 ram
so i was wondering if i should take the trouble of swapping out my 3gb worth of 533 and replacing them with 667.
just wanna see if the 2gb 667 option makes it speedier than 3gb 533 - if not i'll just leave the old rams in there
