Default Ram troubles -Corsair DDR2 4GB PC-6400/800 (2x XMS2 2GB) TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX Ram

Corsair DDR2 4GB PC-6400/800 (2x XMS2 2GB) TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX Ram

One of the modules appears to be faulty. Just running through what I have done:

Both modules installed: random windows errors, read/write errors, failing MemTest86 test

module #1 installed: runs fine

module #2 installed: random windows errors, read/write errors, failing MemTest86 test

the guy I spoke to for warranty and returns asked about what timings I was using, I used the 5-5-5-15 as stated on the packaging and did not alter timings for either of the installs. Since #1 works I doubt this is the problem.

is this enough grounds to claim that the ram is faulty? anything else I can do to make these work?

cheers

On intel 3x chipsets, I believe the ram voltage is labeled as DRAM voltage. It should be under M.I.T settings. If it's not there, try pressing F1 or Ctrl + F1 at the main bios page

Same thing happened to my Corsair Doms, it happened twice actually. I don't know if it's true, but I feel like Corsair makes some very unstable and badly produced RAM.
