Hey everyone,
I've got a strange problem here. So when I first got the computer listed in my sig, I used some RAM a friend game me when I first built it. It would always freeze when I was trying to install Windows, so I ran a mem86 test on it. One of the sticks came up with a bunch of errors so I ordered some OCZ ram and didn't give it another thought. When my OCZ ram arrived I plugged it in and more crashes... I called the company and they said the RAM was ok, it was a defective motherboard. When I spoke with the people at Gigabyte I got the same story (suprise! ).So I was wondering if anyone can help me determine if it is the ram that is giving me problems or the motherboard. Original thread for RAM RAM thread w/ explanation -Note- I am running on 1 stick without a problem right now. It's just when both sticks are in that the computer starts acting up. Thanks! ~Gray

One of them is lying. Check the ram again if its okay then the mobo is faulty. the mobo might not support the type of ram you have as well. So make sure to research that!
let me know

The one problem I am having is checking the motherboard. I'll see if I can steal some RAM from a friend but is there any other way to test the slots?

see if you can test the RAM in another MB. If you get errors on your MB and not the other MB then it would be safe to say that the MB is bad.
