Another question. Should ram timings be in some kind of a sync or is lower always better. Can I go mad with the timings and set as everything as it goes (considering its stable) or do I have to follow somekind of a form? This is what I've been wondering this for a loooong time

Lower Ram timings are always better, at the same memory speed.
By running looser timings though, often you can run higher memory speeds. Usually you're better off (more bandwidth, better benches) with higher memory speeds at the expense of timings, but there is a "balance point" above which overall performance starts to fall off.

It's all trial and error as each stick of memory (even the same model from the same manufacturer) is different.

But then they say memory performance is only about 10% of overall computer peformance, so with a 5% increase in memory performance and you'll only see a 0.5% increase in overall performance.

The extra performance is there, hard to get, and only worth doing if you have already done all you can with all the other overclocking options.

As for the individual timings, yes, tweaking each separately can yield increased performance, but takes a lot of study (to learn what each does and how they are interrelated) and it is difficult and very time consuming. And you're looking at 4 settings, there are actually 31 different timings (including sub timings) you can adjust. But again, you'd be spending vast amounts of time getting minimal performance increases. And as memory speeds have increased PC-100 < DDR-400 < DDR2-800 < DDR3-1330, memory speeds in relation to core speeds has become less and less of an issue and overclocking yielding less and less of a benefit.
