Just building a new system with an i7 and was wondering what ram to go with.
I'll probably go with corsair ram, unless someone recommends something better. So far the system consists of: Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 4.8GT/S EVGA X58 ATX LGA1366 DDR3 3PCIE-16 PCI-E1 2PCI SLI SATA2 eSATA Dual GBLAN Motherboard And maybe this ram: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=34802

The lower number the better, but frequency is more important on i7 based systems. Depending on your budget, 1600mhz-2000mhz is where you want to be at.

Corsair is good, but by no means are they the only good manufacturer. G.Skill, Patriot, even Kingston make high-end DDR3 modules.
Obviously the lower timings on the 8-8-8-24 are going to be better, but if it costs significantly more it's not worth it.

I recommend these. I just bought them myself and they are fast.

Read this before you buy anything, to see the relative speed between modules. You'll see there is only a marginal difference between speeds and timings.
