I have a Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 MB and originally i had Kingston hyperX pc2 9600 2G of memory. This was running fine @1200Mhz. I needed more memory and the hyperx is discontinued so i picked up 4G of G.SKILL F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI memory. So the problem is I cant get them to work together @1200 MHZ. I have 4 slots, 2 slots have 1G of the kingston and 2 slots have 2 gigs of the GSKILL. The kingston is rated at 2.3V and the GSKILL is rated at 2.1V so im not sure what to set the voltage to. I can boot into windows but i cant run prime95 for any amount of time, if i leave either the PI or hyperx in alone it runs fine, just not together.

Why are you trying to run those different binned kits together?

well i couldnt find anymore of the hyperx, so i got the PI, i figure 6G is better than 4 so i would like to run them all if possible. THe PI was the closest i could find to the hyperx.

You really should not mix ram, but if you do you need to run them at which ever the slower rated ones are.

Highly doubt that you will be able to run both of those kits @ 1200Mhz stable just because of voltage differences per kit.
Try downclocking them to lower clock speeds.

Quad cores and 2x2gb kits at 1200MHz puts a lot of load on the NB
so trying to add another 2x1GB kit will need more NB voltage but i wouldnt even try mixing those two kits.the g.skill are more than enough and only need 2.10v. i havent seen 8gb of g.skill pc9600 and a quad core yet.ive always wanted to try.

really you dont.4gigs is more than enough at that speed
with a quad core.you have a nice setup there

True, i did just upgrade to win 7 64bit. Its pretty fast, but i think 4 gigs is still enough with 7
