Default Choosing RAM

Ok for those that remember from my first posts two or 3 weeks ago I recently ordered all my firsts for my first ever build. The build you can see by my list underneath. Anyhow Monday morning I woke up to a BSOD. I kept getting it and narrowed it down to the RAM. I took each stick and tested with memtest and 2 out of 3 passed. The 3rd had errors immediately. Anyhow to RMA with Newegg I have to send all 3 back as it was a kit of 3 x 2GB sticks. Since my motherboard can handle 24 GB it has 6 slots I thought about buying 3 more sticks and then when i get those in next few days then I would send in the RMA of the other 3 so I won't be left without a working computer for a couple weeks. My problem is that the RAM I bought from them is out of stock and has been out of stock since like the day after I bought it on the 16th. So how bad is it to mix two different types. I mean I could get 3 more OCZ or whatever. What kind do you recommend. If you want to take the time you can check out Newegg and recommend to me what you think I should get given I want 1600 speed and would like to stay as close to $150 as possible. So 3 sticks of 2 GB. Thanks for your time and advice.

Dont you have a friend near by who can borrow you just 2GB Of RAM to use till your RAM gets back cause i think its a waste to add another kit. There is no guarantee that if you mix Ram you wil get optimum performance when you overclock. If you have extra bucks to spare help out Valious here http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...y-hate-do.html

I dont have any friends who are using same type of ram. Adding another kit don't cost too much and actually I am not even OC'ing right now anyhow. Well not to an extreme. Just a decent 3.4 That is funny about your quote about lapping a cpu. I have done it as a project in my IT class. Also have a youtube video about it..got the idea from TJHarlow. I am sure you know who he is.

I would recommend this Gskill. I've had Gskill before and they mixed fine with my dominators.
