Hey everyone,
I have a question, based off the pics provided, what would be the best timings to set for overclocking my Intel E5300 2.6 ghz? I have looked for the timing info about these DDR2 Modules and havent found anything reguarding them about timings. Thanks to all that can help and those that tried, Mike

By the way, there's a much better way to post screenshots: if you want to post a screenshot of something with a smaller window like CPU-Z, then press Alt+Print Screen. This captures just the active window. Then open MS Paint, shrink that white box down to something smaller than what you captured. Then paste what you captured. Now save that as a .PNG (for .PNGs look way better than .JPGs and retain a very small file size). Now upload it/attach it the same way you did here, and you're done.

well the "best" timings will be the ones that you can get as low as possible. Start with the JEDEC 5-5-5-15's, and work your way down. 667 should be easily able to get 4-4-4-12.
edit: oh and don't bother with the pm

I agree. It's best to reply via the thread, not private messages. This way everyone benefits instead of just you.

If you were to take the timings from 5-5-5 to 4-4-4, this is a tighter set of timings. But going from 4-4-4 to 5-5-5 would be loosening the timings. Generally, loosening the timings while overclocking tends to help make overclocking easier. And then people typically recommend to tighten the timings down on top of whatever overclock you have settled upon to the best of your ability. This helps to make for a cleaner overclock, so to speak.

2.Overclock FSB until overclocked 3.Tighten timings until instability or no POST 4.Loosen timings until stability returns This will isolate each task to a limited number of potential variables and causes of failure. Also note that you don't have to change every timing at the same time, by the same amount (or relative amount). In general, change one thing at a time, and record the chosen settings and results each time; that way, you only have to do it once, and you will have a volume of working and non-working settings, just waiting to be plugged into the BIOS anytime you like.

Is your fsb and ram frequency linked?
You can usually specify exactly what ram frequency and timing you want. However much has to do with the bios you are using. For your ram I reocommend going 450-550mhz at 4-4-4-12 or 4-5-5-15. I also assume you don't have heat dissipating spreaders on the ram. Try bumping voltage to 1.9. One problem with mixing manufacturer (as I do) is that your rams may have different chips which may like different settings (even though they have the same spec). A lot of time it's more stable to run a speed lower than what they specified.
