Question Ddr2 ram c2d

My ram really limits my overclock. My C2D could go ALOT further than the 3.6GHZ it's running at now...

I thought DDR2 RAM would have dropped alot more by now???!!
I wish I had gotten 1066MHZ in the first place but now if I buy 4GB of 1066MHZ for over $100 AUD then that would have been $200 spent on RAM...

I want my C2D system to be able to play the latest games for as long as it can. But i'm also not wanting to buy anything that I wouldn't be able to be used for a new system.

can I get cheap 1066MHZ DDR2's???? Where from..? I would buy second hand.

My Kingston Value RAM timing are 6-6-6-18-52

Also my FSB:RAM is set to 1:1. Could I set it to something else so that my ram wouldn't need to be OC'ed?? Would that effect my performance though?

When I use Memtest86 I get so many errors when my RAM is OC'ed, even when I bump the voltage up. They are just Kingston's cheapy 800mhz sticks.

Just set your FSB:RAM to accommodate the CPU overclock. So long as the RAM clocks stay at or slightly under 800MHz, you won't be losing any performance and will be able to clock your CPU higher which is where the real performance comes from. The difference between 800 and 1066 is noticeable, but the upgrade really isn't necessary if all you want are higher CPU clocks and have a board that allows for the setting of an FSB:RAM ratio.

Keep the memory at roughly 800MHz with the FSB:RAM and overclock away
