Default teach me how to overclock ram

ok i have a fairly good idea when it comes to overlocking the mhz of ram, then i was informed having my ram which is stock at 1600 running at 1800 dosen't give me any visible gain, but dropping my timings would, so the question is how much should i drop the mhz for the ideal timing set, and which values should i consider dropping first with my sig ram, ie which is most likely to get to the lowest value easiest.... and btw i have access to a lot of stuff when it comes to overclocking ram it gives me about 85 options for timings, but the main ones that i feel comfortable touching are the FSBRAM, CL, rRCD, tRP, tRAS, tRFc and the CR

currently its setup at
dram 798mhz
fsb:dram 2:8
8,8,8, 19
and the tRFC is 74
cr is 1
