Default DDR + SDR in same PC

I have A E-machine computer, that had 512mb DDR ram stick in it. on the front of the case, where it lists the basic components, (type/amount of processor, HD, RAM, DVD Burner, ETC.) for the ram, it says:
512MB
DDR SDRAM

I have a SDR stick of ram, and I was woundering if there is anyway to add that with my existing DDR stick of ram.

SDRAM is Synchronous dynamic random access memory. Normally we just call any kind of PC memory RAM.

The RAM in your PC is DDR, which is Double Data Rate SDRAM, while the other stick you have is Single Data Rate SDRAM

These are not compatible. SDR is 186 pins, while DDR is 184 pins. If you look at the actual RAM, you will see two nochtes in the SDR, and only one in the DDR stick. Your MoBo likely only supports DDR. Some older MoBo's accept both, but I am not sure if you could install both at the same time (I think not...)

Give us some more info about your e-machines, esp. your MoBo, so we can help you better.

Good luck

It will physically not fit in his board, unless he has an older board that supports both (when DDR was new). Don't try to force that SDR in the DDR slot...

Even if ddr and sdr ram fit in the same slots the voltages would be different
