alright, so you want to get one or two PCI-e slots for $150? hows about one. try one of the Gigabyte boards. the S3 or DS3.
We need chozart on here, he is the new build master. i don't think you are going to get anything out of the old Dell, just settle with a new computer. can you get a budget for the overall build?

well as budget i think hes willing to spend more than 500 but less than a thousand so id figure id keep his old hard drive which is 160gb, hes got tons of stuff on there and he dosnt want to lose it so ill just swap it. and as RAM im not sure what to get him any suggestions? the processor is a pentium 4 which is better than a celeron so either a new celeron or his pentium 4. And all that other mumbo jumbo like dvd burners and floppys ill just take outof his machine..
this is what i got so far... Tower: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146010 GPU: ATI X1900 gt PCI-e Sound card- creative like extrememe fx Optical-Dell dvd burner floppy and smart media-DELL hardisk-computer swap and ill get him some zalman fans and 80mm fans EDit: ok ive been thnking now this mobo has an lga 775 socket, how good is the pentium D processor? there peretty cheap on newegg and i heard they were dual core or somting like that

lol, the best processor you can get for his budget is the Core 2 Duo E6300, requiring a new motherboard though, and new ram. and you'll want a better PSU than what comes with the NXZT case. something like this.
Case- $80 PSU.- $105 Mobo- $143 CPU- $120 RAM- $110 Graphics- The G80s are coming out soon, but it doesn't sound like he wants to spend that much. However, a good X1900XTX 512 costs $500. HDD- he has Optical- he has Cooling- $55 Soundcard- $66 Monitor- he has? Total- $679 + cost of video card.

nice suggestions thanks. now 500$ for the card is alot and i think its a litte overbudget. becasue im trying to keep it as low as 900$ i have to gain a profit. the dual core is nice but i think ill keep with a pentium d and overall better than a pentium 4 on some scales. and will save him some money
and as for monitor hes got a nice flat panel from dell

Something else to keep in mind... is his HD sata or IDE? Many of the Core 2 boards only have one IDE connecter. Just tossing it out there in case it is an IDE HD.
