just wondering what your opinion is on this setup for overclocking.
x6800/ maximus formula s.e / 2x1gb crucial ballistix 1066
what could i expect ? 400fsb? 1200 dram? 3.6+ghz ? on watercooling.
im about to start soon but not sure what to expect.

depends how lucky you are with your ic but it wouldnt shock me if you hit 4ghz with a bit of tinkering and some cold water.

Although my boards box says Nvidia Nforce 680i chipset, isn't it actually a 650i? I'm a bit confused for some reason.

Yes, It's a 650i paired with a 570 in a "hybrid chipset". SLI Performance is equitable to some 680i boards, but I was a little disappointed with mine temp and OC wise.

the OP is a little out of date. I know wowza and he just doesn't have as much time anymore as he used to...but someone else should take a stab at a similar review with the newer mobos/chipsets.
