Not true. P5W DH is better than the P5B Deluxe. However, I would choice either Abit AB9 Quad GT or Intel D975XBXB2 as a motherboard. Each are much better than the P5B Dlx.

If anyone is interested Micro Center is selling the
D975XBX2 at $175.99. I thought that it is a decent price for this board.

I am thinking of getting the new e4300 because of the 9x multiplier (similar to e6600, half the cost). Would the D975XBX2 a good candidate if I want to reach 400mhz FSB (3.6Ghz)? The other reason for getting a high multiplier CPU is that so I don't have to spend a lot of money getting the crazy fast ram to make the system stable. At 400Mhz I would only need DDR-800Mhz (PC 6400) memory, correct?

Yes, that's a good board. 400mhz FSB should be fine. and yes, that's only ddr2-800.

Exclamation question

My bad if somebody already answered the question. Short on time couldn't read all of the above.

I will soon get a cheap Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 with Zalman 9500 in April. When the Core 2 quad comes down to $266 in the Q3, is my CPU socket compatible?

Yes, your motherboard is compatible with Core2Duos, you might need to flash to the latest BIOS though.

Google FTW!

http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Pro...uID=92&LanID=2

The only BIOS version i can find for your board is 070115, which can be found here: http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Pro...etailName=BIOS
