Default 680i vs P965

I am getting a new motherboard. I my goal is at least to get to 500Mhz FSB. However I have also recently set the goal to go SLI. I know that the P5B will easily clock to 500Mhz FSB... But what about the 680i? I am looking at the EVGA 680i vs the P5B Deluxe. The ASUS 680i options are way to expensive.

You know me, even if SLI was such a requirement for gaming, I'd still highly recommend the P5B Deluxe but being that you want to squeeze out as much as possible out of a C2D, why not wait for THE COMMANDO P965, that should be fun.

I'm not that dumb! No way I will fork out a extra $150 for a re-branded P5B!

I just got my 8800GTS and they seem to have so much potential in SLI. The ECGA 680i will do 500Mhz FSB unmodded right?

I think they fixed that with a BIOS update. Along with the SATA corruption issue.

Well, Mikey is selling a ASUS P5W64 WS Professional for a decent price. You can look into that.

They are capable of around a 470 FSB.

Paul, never ever get the Evga 680i. Unless you got a bunch of cash laying around so that you could order new set of ram every now and then

Is that 470 primable? (honest question) I'm really getting a lot of question marks in my head when I hear all these 'max FSB' numbers. Are these max primable FSBes or are they max bootable/superpi?
