iam running on C2D E6600 400X8 i.e 3.2 Ghz at 1.47 VCore , using p5n32 E-SLI , can you suggest better clock rates ...... i've seen ppl runing at 3.8Ghz with 1.4VCore ... Hows This Possible ..... Plz Explain .....
also ive kept my NB Volt fixed to 1.5 volt so that i may not land up in next strap..... Help for better clocks and voltages for me.... i need help with NB , SB,12V,CPU VTT voltages and their effects please....

aha, good find.
i just had a thought. this would explain why when running benchmarks at higher NB straps can lead to lower results... as with your RAM latencies, the higher the number, the slower the responce + CAS times. the slower the response, the slower the overall system response, want a tip from me? run your maximum FSB on your m.b and then top it up with clockgen for suicide runs =p works a treat, give it a try. I have the P5B Deluxe (which you guys said has the 1066 strap all the way until 401 FSB) and an E4300.
__________________I'm currently running 356FSB with a 9 multiplier, which brings my E4300 to 3.2 GHz, 24/7 stable. What I'm wondering is, if I bring the multi down to 8 and run at a 380FSB, do gain more performance in memory bandwidth than I lose with the NB strap change? Or, since the ASUS P5B Deluxe has manipulated the strap change, does that not occur until 401FSB no matter what; regardless of an 8 or 9 multi? I guess what I'm saying is; with the P5B Deluxe, does the 1333 strap happen at 401MHz no matter WHAT, or is this only the case with the 9 multiplier. If I run 380 x 8, is that bringing me to the 1333 strap? Help is appreciated.

Also, (I know this is off topic) but is it true that 4 sticks of RAM OC's less successfully than just 2?

Hi all,
__________________First of, great thread pauldovi! Rep+ for you. Anybody has any info on the NB straps and the FSB for strap-changeover,i.e. from say 1066MHz to 1333MHz, for the Asus P5K3 Deluxe board? Currently I'm running my Q6600 at 3.2GHz (8 x 400MHz) @1.370V. After reading this article, I think that I'm going to set my multiplier back to 9 and adjust the FSB accordingly to achieve the 3.2GHz. Hence, I'd like to get some info on the FSB where the NB straps change. Also, please comment on which of the following setups is better: 9 x 356MHz with FSB RAM = 1:19 x 333.33MHz with FSB RAM = 1:2 (the reason for this is pauldovi suggested in his Intel OC guide that running the memory at twice the CPU speed is a better choice)or 9 x 400MHz with FSB RAM = 1:1Thanks a lot! VooDoo

On the P35 it will probably be the 9 x 400Mhz with highest memory. I found that memory speeds make little real world difference.

I shot for 9x 400MHz with Vcore of 1.47V
__________________DRAM Freq = DDR3-800MHz with 5-5-5-15 and Vdimm=1.8V The system finished 32M SuperPi with 15m17.576s; core temps stayed around 67ishC. I then had the system run a 30-min OCCT test. Three (3) minutes into the test the core temps rose to 72ishC, so I stopped the test. Is this setup/OC to hot for everyday use? Also, I went back to the BIOS and change the FSB to 356MHz, Vcore to 1.375V. I tried to change the DRAM frequency to 712MHz so that I could get a 1:1 FSB-DRAM ratio, but I could not do that. The options available to me were: "Auto", "DDR3-800MHz", "DDR3-1060MHz",..., and "DDR3-1333MHz" I was not able to enter a desired DRAM frequency. Any ideas? Thanks! VooDoo

Hi,
I am going to jump from Nvidia to Intel. So, the 1st will be Intel's XBX2. Does anybody have anything to say about that one? Read mostly good about it.
