As far as I know, this should work for almost all, if not all, Gigabyte P965/G965 boards, like DS3, S3, DQ6, etc.
I am making this FAQ because I have seen many misguided people tell others that DS3 and friends don't have dividers. Here is a screenshot taken from this page: http://www.hardwarelogic.com/news/12...006-08-17.html ![]() First thing you might be wondering is: How do I get to the timings? That is done by hitting Ctrl+F1 on the main screen. How to get to this screen: From the main BIOS screen, just go to Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T.). Cute. Next, do you see the System Memory Multiplier? That is the divider. It has a little bit of a weird notation, and this is a "multiplier" that Gigabyte uses to calculate the effective memory speed. The lowest is 2.00, and represents a 1:1 ratio. It is 2.00 because that's the rate that DDR/DDR2 effectively run at (266FSB = DDR2-533). The highest is 4.00, represents a 2:1 ratio, and is only good if you want to drop hundreds of dollars on DDR2-1066 and run your Conroe at stock. Enjoy!

Cool! Helped me a bit, the divider notation is strange.
rep + Continue on your faq!

Time to revive this post.
Using this multiplier method (still a liitle confused about the concept), can I run my e6300 at 400FSB with DDR2 667? If so, what settings should I be adjusting?

Depends on what multiplier your going to run. On a 1:1 ratio if your cpu FSB is 400mhz, your DDR2(double data rate) ram is also going to run at 400mhz giving you a total of 800mhz. Because the ram speed is doubled.

Ideally, I would like to run at 1:1 ratio. Does that mean I set my multi to 2.0 my ram will be overclocked to 800mhz? On the DS3 board, what voltage adjustments should I increase if I'm still running unstable?

Yeah 2.0 is the 1:1 divider. Yes If you clocked your c2d to 400mhz you ram would be clocked at 800. And voltage's im not to sure about.

Right now I'm running 350Mhz FSB stable with my ram running at 350Mhz as well. I upped the MCH voltage to +.02 and that seemed to stopped the occasional freezing problem I kept encountering. Vcore is at 1.325 (reported stock according to DS3 Bios)
I was wondering does anyone know what the MCH Voltage is?

One thing I have noticed that leads to a lot of confusion is that when people state the ratio, they state it incorrectly. If you look at the memory tab on the cpuz screen, you will see the ratio is actually FSB : Dram, 1:1 or 1:2 or 2:3 or 4:5 etc. As I noticed here earlier in the post it was stated as 2:1. That really isnt valid for the DS3 or any other intel board that I know of.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Well he said in example putting the divider setting to 4.0 would be a 2:1 ratio. Never said it was a good idea.
