Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale - $169.00
__________________Open Box: BIOSTAR TForce965PT - $53.99 G.SKILL 2x1GB 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) - $184.99 GIGABYTE GH-PDU21-SC Ball CPU Cooler - $23.99 Rosewill RCX-Z3 Ball CPU Cooler - $24.99 The mobo is a open box. Question: Are egg's open box mobos customer returned items? Between GIGABYTE GH-PDU21-SC and Rosewill RCX-Z3 HSFs, I had a hard time deciding which one to go, so I ordered both. Will give a head-to-head comparison when I receive them.Do I have a good shot at 3G?

Yes, they can be returned items. They only have like a 15 day return policy on them, too, so get this set up quick to see if it works.

I ordered a open box P5B-Deluxe and it didn't really work out for me. But I've heard a lot of people say there open-box items worked great. Either way def put it together quick just to make sure.

it should be fine, my asus m2n-e was open box for 50$ and its been folding with a oced am2 4800 for well several months and not a hickup
and i would say 3.0ghz should be relatively easy, make sure you read around at some of the other biostar post here because they arent the most problem free board but can oc pretty good and if you have any questions myself and several other people here have them so be sure to post back if something isnt working right

well remember that is a unstable max oc on this thing, and i am using a mach II gt phase sytem on mine so i have some extrememly cold temps
but if you get a decent chip and some good air cooling you should be able to pull 3.2 to 3.5 i imagine

Go for it while they still have those, bdattilo!
__________________Max, actually I will be very happy if I can break 3GHz this time. My last e4300 attempt topped at 2.7G because of the ECS mobo I got from Fry's won't lock pci speed. It corrupted my hard drive before I had to give up

It seems to be a hit or miss with those openbox mobos, I've ordered 3 total, and the first 2 worked great, and still do. I never got the 3rd one up and running, ending up just rmaing it. Definately note that you only have the 15 days like mentioned above. Everything else I've ordered openbox, (cpu coolers, hard drives, etc.), has worked great so far.
