Scarring Your Psyche

Sorry it is taking so long--I got a late start and I havebeen DLing 3DMark06--my connect is sloooooow so it is taking forever--hindering baseline temp runs under Orthos.
I did DL Everest Home Edition and ran the memory test--but XP was updating itself so I think it is a little off. Going to start off with some Orthos and then do some basic benchmarks then see how well the board OCs and so on. Right off the bat I found my DDR2 1000 will not boot (2.3 voltage required) but the new D Skill HZ I got from Egg (DDR2 800) Booted right up. I will mess around in the BIOS soon. This my kind of BIOS--I have had slews of Asus boards and have really been apalled at the lack of OC tweaks in the last few..but thsone has all the stuff you need and nothing you don't. Still getting a feel for this one so I am going a little slow.

I just now cranked the FSB up to 417 and upped the volts to 1.45 and adjusted the RAM to 5 5 5 15 and 2.2 volts and booted into XP without a hitch running HZ DDR2 800 at 1001!
That means 2919.2 mhz at the CPU according to CPU ID. Not a bad first overclock for me or the unknown board... CPU reports voltage as 1.367 and Asus probe at 1.38 When idling the auto multi (6/7) switches to 6 and drops the CPU speed to 2502.1 As soon as I start Orthos it jumps back to 2912. CPU temp is 44C--and the rig is running Orthos fine. I will let it cook for a bit and then run some memory bandwidth tests. This board is a winner--that much is clear. CPU voltage actually went down to 1.34 during Orthos and temps dropped to 44C briefly. I do believe the Voltage damper function is working...as I set it a ful tenth higher than it obviously needs--and it ignored my request and only juiced the CPU as required...I cannot wait to get this board to the limit. But I think being able to immediately jump from DDR2 800 to DDR2 1000 and 1.86ghz to 2.92 ghz is impressive and speaks loads about the stability of this board.

The G Skill is humming at 1001 and the E6300 is stroking along at 2933...I upped the NB and SB voltages a tad after Orthos failed at 15 minutes and lowered the CPU voltage to 1.3875
The title sez it all--screenshots to follow. Timings are 5 5 5 15 DRAM Voltage 2.2

This board is great.
here are the results of bandwidth runs at 3.1 ghz. 8912 mb/s read 3657 mb/s write 55.0 ns latency The G Skill DDR2 800 is running flawlessly Orthos stable at DDR2 1066 and 2.2 V

outstanding, good job with this thing so far, get that puppy 1:1 and lets see some fsb action,
thats different how it runs the vcore, kind of weird but as long as it works i guess thats cool nice oc on the ram edit: oh and your using the what 4:5 divider, thats pretty sweet that it works above 400fsb
