So maybe the Q6700 is a better bet after all for us with P5N32-E SLIs?

It was confirmed to exist today and it is selling in England for 300 pounds so like $500 retail US I guess

Yep that's Robilars chips. But it's a Dual Core Extreme not a Quad.

If you have a 680i board, be it evga or asus, the extreme quads (With unlocked multi's, thats the QX6700 and QX6800), will always give the best overclocking results.

Even with dual core chips, I've benched both high FSB/low Multi and High Multi/Low FSB. The nvidia chipset benches faster (about 3%) with higher multi/lower fsb ratios.

with the unlocked cores, you can also circumvent the fsb ceiling that is present in all 680i chipsets.

Until the nvidia 790i board is released (that apparently is aimed at the quad processors) or the intel X38 chipset is confirmed to have SLI support (still vapourware), the 680i is the only real option for SLI.
