I think even my PSU will do with the G0 Quads...
About the E chips... they are always better... but you pay p-r-e-m-i-u-m... their benefit is the unlocked multi which in this board's case would be a great workaround by allowing for a higher multiplier which would allow for lower FSBs yet higher clocks... but this has all been said before... Would my PSU do the trick for a 3.15GHz Q6600 OC with this board?

The EVGA 680i rev. A1 boards are getting higher FSBs with the quad cores. It seems right now that the non rev A1 boards and the ASUS board limit at 400 FSB.

Yea, I saw your setup MHill it brings me hope that I won't have to spend more... Michelle is already looking at me weird about the Q66... the only thing that differs is that I have three more drives in there, but then again the GTX is supposed to pull considerably more than my GTS... would you say the systems are equal in terms of draw?
the Antec 650W is supposed to be tough from reviews, which seem to touch on the fact that Antec was sucking bad for a while but they say they might have gotten it right finally...

Although I have got a quick session in windows at 360mhz FSB, and one at 400mhz FSB @ 3.6ghz...it was not 100% stable. Some more tweaking and I am confident I can get it past 3.6ghz even. Since FSB is in question, I will see what the highest stable FSB I can record is, with my new mobo.

I've both the Asus and eVGA (A1)boards neither of which I could get the FSB beyond 310Mhz. They both OCed perfectly >= 3.6Ghz using the multi. I've RMAed the eVGA hoping against all odds it isn't the CPU and that it is still the MB...but I'm not holding my breath. Two things that give me hope are:
__________________1. the PCB on the A1 board had a C00 rather than a D00 suffix. This was enough to get the RMA even though it was supposed to have the quad fix since it was a A1 edition. 2. The eVGA BIOS allows you to turn off all of the cores except one. I did this and lo and behold the board ran without a hitch at 450Mhz. I may be naive but this would appear to indicate that at least one core is up to the task and therefore it is the MB that is the problem. Of course perhaps one or all of the other 3 cores are corrupted or not of good quality. Just thought I should at least mention the D00 matter for any eVGA A1 users.

Ideally, you want all of your 4 cpu's up and running for your OC...otherwise, what good is it? Also, you have a QX6700, which has a 10x multi, by default. The lower multi on the Q6600, means more FSB for less Ghz.
